Samsung has recently released emails sent back and forth between Steve Jobs and Jony Ive and Apple designer Bas Ording. The email shows Steve Jobs writing "This maybe our answer" in response to a forwarded blog post by Engadget that reviewed Samsung's fashion phone, SGH-E910.

iPods were popular in 2005 and iPhone hadn't surfaced yet. But Steve and other executives at were thinking of turning iPod into a mobile phone. However, that iPod plus Phone concept never shone that much as Apple worked for a full touchscreen mobile phone and finally came up with 2007 iPhone. But Samsung showed it that Apple isn't always the most innovative. They too copied design idea from other companies including Samsung, with whom they are in legal dispute.

nokia 101
Nokia has recently announced Nokia 100 and Nokia 101, two incredibly low cost mobile phones designed for users in the low end market, specially in the Asian region. This is a move to survive in the competitive field with other manufactures such as Micromax, ZTE, Symphony (available in Bangladesh only) and other non-brand Chinese handsets popular in the market.

According to the sources, the new phones will cost $30 and $35 respectively. These phones are expected to hit the market later this year.

Nokia 100 is a classic handset that is focused on making calls and sending text messages. It features a color display, traditional menu items and FM radio as additional feature. The 101 features dual SIM support in addition to these. It also supports MP3 playback and microSD memory card support for up to 16 GB, which is quite uncommon in low cost phones in the market.

42.9 percent of smartphones sold in the country run on Android operating system while Apple iPhone has 37.2 percent share. The boost in Android sales may have been caused by brand new smartphones from Samsung and HTC including Galaxy S II, Desire S, Desire Z etc.

The report of just last four weeks show that 54% of smartphones sold in the country are Android while another 29% of smartphones are iPhone.

We've seen how Google stepped into the mobile market with its physical devices called Nexus One. Because the popularity of the smartphone was less than what Google had anticipated, the production of Nexus devices stopped. This time, Google suddenly announced that the company will acquire Motorola for $12.5 billion.

While the amount can be terrific, it is the first time Google is acquiring a company that actually produces physical devices on the market. However, most of Motorola's latest handsets are already running Google's Android operating system. Therefore, Google literally doesn't have to do much with it.

Rumors about iPhone are endless. But the latest rumor about iPhone's next edition coming this September has been proved wrong by an undisclosed source.  According to All Things D, a believable source close to the matter said that the next generation of iPhone will not be displayed anytime in this September.

When asked about a hard launch date, the source only said the next iPhone will be out this October where other 'sources' said that it would be late October when iPhone arrives in the market.

The source also said that AT&T may have canceled all employee vacation since past two weeks but it's not for an iPhone launch this September. Whenever the gadget is out, it will be in October.

If you're one of those iPhone fans that are waiting with cash to get an iPhone 5, or 4G, or whatever it takes to be the next generation of iPhone, start counting down now. October is barely two months away!

In China, everything appears to be its own. Just like Baidu is somewhat more popular than Google. Now here comes a new smartphone operating system from a Chinese company that will compete with big fishes such as Google and Apple.

The new smartphone operating system, called Alyun OS, has been launched by a Chinese company "Alibaba" as it takes part in fast-growing mobile market in China.

Apple

Bad news for those who don't like Steve Jobs' monopoly with all his market products. New analytics have shown that Apple is world's top smartphone vendor. Along with that, its balance is significantly more than that of US government, according to financial post.

Apple, as smartphone vendor, has 18 percent market share right above Samsung which as 17 percent market share in the smartphone market.

Mozilla Foundation isn't happy competing with Google with its vastly popular web browser on desktop. As reports mentioned, the company behind Firefox is now stepping into the world of smartphone operating systems.

Earlier, Mozilla built a mobile version of its web browser codenamed Fennec (Firefox for Mobile).

It is said that Mozilla may take some of the components from Android for its own version of smartphone OS, but majority of the new operating system will be written from scratch, which means consumers can anticipate something different and fresh in the world of smartphones.
